Maundy Thursday is the annual celebration of the Institution of the Eucharist (Holy Communion). It is the day when during the Mass we hear the reading from John’s Gospel about Jesus washing the feet of the disciples. The Mass held in the evening is also the first part of the Easter Triduum.
