Holy Saturday/Easter Vigil

  • St Hilda's Catholic Chaplaincy House 56 Amersham Road London, England, SE14 6QE United Kingdom (map)

Holy Saturday is when Christians share and remember the time Jesus was in the tomb. It is a day of quiet in the Church that ends with the Easter Vigil.

The Easter Vigil is the concluding part of the Easter Triduum. It has four distinct parts to the liturgy (Liturgy of Light, Liturgy of the Word, Liturgy of Baptism, Liturgy of the Eucharist). It is the highpoint of the Church’s year and the one when adults who have been preparing to become members of the church are often baptised. Why not go to your local parish or the church nearest your university to take part in this. The Mass begins in the evening, but check the individual church for the exact start time.
