Parish Internship Programme - St Elizabeth's - Richmond
We are excited to share with you an incredible opportunity at St Elizabeth’s, our Parish Internship Programme. This programme offers hands-on experience in parish renewal, missionary discipleship, and lay leadership. Interns play a vital role in supporting and enhancing our parish’s ministry and outreach, helping to foster spiritual growth and build a vibrant faith community here in Richmond. They work in a variety of areas, including youth ministry, adult faith formation, parish operations, comms and media production, and social outreach within the local community.
Our programme is distinctive in its integration of personal growth, academic formation, and practical experience across various aspects of parish life. Interns not only gain valuable experience in ministry but also develop essential leadership skills and receive training in the principles of parish renewal. Our internship programme offers hands on experience in a cycle of each ministry in the parish throughout the year, lessons from our parish team on parish renewal, lay leadership, safeguarding, and ministry best practice, and mentoring from their internship lead. We are already witnessing the fruits of our labour, with one of our recent graduates now leading youth ministry in Manchester, another going on to work in ministry in America, and a third taking a job as an Assistant Youth Minister in a parish. This success has only increased our enthusiasm to inspire and equip more young people to take on leadership roles in their communities. The role is suited for those at university or who have recently graduated, and may also suit those on a gap year. There is a small monthly stipend provided, but accommodation is the responsibility of the applicant.
This would be suitable for current students or recent graduates who feel called to deepen their faith and gain hands-on experience in ministry.
